about

sue hannay - relationshiip counsellorI am a Relate qualified counsellor, with an MA in Relationship Therapy, who has been working in the field of counselling since 2008. I have helped hundreds of couples, families, individuals and young people move forward in their lives.

My private practice is in Petts Wood and I see clients face to face, online and via telephone. Previously I have worked with Relate London SE and the Bromley Children Project at Blenheim Children Centre.

I am a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere to their ethical framework.

In accordance with BACP's ethical framework and because I passionately believe in the importance and value of training, I have regular and on-going supervision and attend courses, seminars etc as part of my CPD (continuous professional development).

My qualifications include:

  • Masters Degree (MA) in Relationship Therapy

  • Postgraduate Certificate in Behavioural Couples Therapy (with Merit)

  • University Advanced Diploma in Couple Counselling

  • Relate Qualified Counsellor since 2008

  • Certificate in Counselling Skills with Children and Young People using the Arts (The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education)

  • Working with Young People (Youth Access Training)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Certificate

  • Registered Member MBACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)

  • I have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and private indemnity insurance.

  • Prior to training as a counsellor I worked in marketing, both for a global London firm and later as a Director of a local organisation. I also have had experience of volunteer work in the education sector. This has given me a real understanding of some of the work-life issues clients can face and how this can impact on their lives.
